Business
Bharat Agri Fert and Realty Limited operates primarily in the phosphatic fertilizer manufacturing, real estate development, and hospitality sectors. The company produces single super phosphate (SSP) fertilizers, including both powder and granulated forms, and holds licenses to manufacture 33,000 tonnes per annum of sulphuric acid and 66,000 tonnes per annum of SSP fertilizers from its facility in Kharivali village, Wada Taluka, Thane District, Maharashtra. Alongside fertilizers, Bharat Agri Fert and Realty develops and markets residential and commercial real estate, notably a major 60-storied residential project in Thane city with regulatory approval for up to 35 floors and plans to expand the project's floor space index to 59 floors. The company also operates the Anchaviyo Resort, which is undergoing expansion to increase room capacity from 46 to over 125, targeting corporate events and destination weddings. Founded in 1959 and headquartered in Mumbai, Bharat Agri Fert and Realty has diversified from its original fertilizer business into construction, real estate, and hospitality. Recent strategic developments include marketing tie-ups with Greenstar Fertilizers for distribution of 25,000 metric tons of SSP and its own marketing setup for an additional 15,000 metric tons, targeting total sales revenue of approximately Rs. 70 crore. In real estate, the company is enhancing its land bank substantially by negotiating additional adjacent parcels to increase the total holdings to over 65 lakh square feet, planning high-value residential projects and non-agricultural plots with club facilities. The company is also planning to monetize its surplus land for sports complexes and further hospitality ventures, anticipating revenues of Rs. 700-800 crore from Thane projects over the next 3-4 years. Bharat Agri Fert and Realty has notably become debt-free in its fertilizer division, providing a boost to its financial position, and has recently adjusted its accounting year-end from December 31 to March 31. Overall, Bharat Agri Fert and Realty Limited integrates phosphatic fertilizer manufacturing, real estate construction and development, and hospitality services, focusing on expanding its real estate footprint and hospitality offerings while maintaining a solid presence in the fertilizer market within India. The company's latest expansions include significant real estate development projects in the Mumbai metropolitan region and upgrades of its hospitality resort facilities, aligning with its strategic shift towards higher-margin real estate and hospitality segments while continuing its legacy fertilizer operations. This multi-sector approach emphasizes long-term growth through asset development and operational diversification.
