Business
Brembo N.V. (BRE.MI) designs, manufactures and markets braking systems and components for automotive vehicles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles and racing applications; the company operates through segments including Discs – Systems – Motorbikes and Aftermarket – Performance Group. It offers brake discs, calipers, pads, master cylinders, drums, shoes, hoses, side-wheel modules, integrated braking systems and light-alloy wheels; products also encompass carbon ceramic brakes via its Brembo SGL Carbon Ceramic Brakes joint venture, clutches and suspensions under brands such as Brembo Racing, AP Racing, Marchesini, Bybre, SBS Friction and Öhlins. Founded in 1961 and headquartered in Stezzano, Italy, Brembo maintains manufacturing and R&D facilities across 15 countries including Italy, Poland, China, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, India, the Czech Republic, Germany and the United Kingdom. The company serves original equipment manufacturers in premium automotive, motorsport and aftermarket sectors worldwide. In October 2024, Brembo acquired Öhlins Racing, a premium suspension technology provider, for $405 million, marking its largest transaction and enhancing integrated solutions for vehicle corners; the deal closed in early 2025. Its Brembo SGL Carbon Ceramic Brakes joint venture completed a €150 million investment by 2027 to expand carbon ceramic brake disc production capacity over 70% at sites in Stezzano, Italy, and Meitingen, Germany, with phase one finalized in September 2025. Brembo also launched products including its first 100% recycled aluminum caliper, entered the bicycle market via Specialized partnership, introduced the Tracktribe digital track riding system and ALCHEMIX AI consultancy on Microsoft Marketplace, while forming a hydrogen technology alliance with SIAD.
