Century Textiles and Industries Limited manufactures textiles, pulp and paper products and develops real estate properties. The company produces cotton yarn under the Century Yarn brand, denim fabrics under the Century Denim brand, viscose filament yarn, tyrecord fabric and rayon textiles; pulp and paper products including writing and printing paper, tissue, board and rayon grade pulp under the Century Pulp & Paper brand from its facility in Lalkuan, Uttarakhand. Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Mumbai, the company, part of the Aditya Birla Group, recently signed a strategic agreement with LGCPL group through Birla Estates to co-develop a 131-acre land parcel in Noida Sector 150 as part of an Integrated Sports City project, acquired ownership rights to a 10-acre leasehold land parcel in Worli Mumbai from Nusli Wadia for Rs 1,100 crore creating a contiguous 30-acre holding, purchased land from Hindalco Industries Limited, incorporated a new wholly owned subsidiary Unnatam Properties Private Limited and commenced handovers for Birla Vanya, Birla Navya Phase I and Birla Alokya projects while planning capex of Rs 300 crore annually for paper business upgrades to increase capacity by 100,000 tonnes.
