China Mass Media Corp., previously known as China Mass Media International Advertising Corp. until its name change in April 2009, operated as a television advertising agency within the People's Republic of China. The company's primary business involved acquiring and reselling advertising slots on national television channels, notably five channels of China Central Television (CCTV), to allow clients to reach audiences across the country. Beyond advertising agency functions, it also offered services such as advertisement production and sponsorship for public service announcements, and provided sales and marketing support for special sports events for CCTV. Its operations were primarily conducted through Universal International Advertising Co., Ltd., a subsidiary in China. In 2012, the company entered into a merger agreement which led to its transition into a privately-held entity, resulting in its American Depositary Shares no longer trading on the public market.
