Business
GraniteShares Bloomberg Commodity Broad Strategy No K-1 ETF (COMB) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks long-term capital appreciation through diversified exposure to commodity futures markets, benchmarked against the Bloomberg Commodity Index. The fund provides broad-based access to 23 commodity futures contracts across five economic sectors, including energy (such as crude oil WTI/Brent, unleaded gas, low sulfur gas oil, natural gas, ULS diesel), agriculture and softs (such as corn, soybeans, soybean oil, soybean meal, wheat, coffee, sugar, cotton), livestock (such as lean hogs, live cattle), base metals (such as aluminum, copper, nickel, zinc) and precious metals (such as gold, silver); it holds these futures directly alongside short-term fixed income securities like U.S. Treasury bills, bank certificates of deposit, commercial paper and other instruments with maturities up to two years for collateral and interest income, while issuing a standard 1099 tax form rather than a K-1. Launched on May 22, 2017, COMB operates with a low net expense ratio of 0.25%, positioning it as one of the lowest-cost broad commodity basket ETFs available to U.S. investors. COMB targets institutional and retail investors seeking portfolio diversification, inflation hedging, and exposure to macroeconomic trends like supply-demand shocks, geopolitics and technological advancements in commodities, which are difficult to access via equities or fixed income. The fund is issued by GraniteShares, a global asset manager founded in 2016 and headquartered in New York with additional operations in London; GraniteShares manages over $10.9 billion in assets under management as of September 2025, offering a range of U.S. ETFs including physically backed gold and platinum funds, high-income products, disruptive technology ETFs and leveraged single-stock ETFs. In recent developments, GraniteShares has aggressively expanded its product lineup with multiple YieldBOOST ETF launches in 2025, including RTYY and HMYY targeting Riot Platforms and Hims & Hers Health in December, FBYY and BBYY on Meta Platforms and Abbott Laboratories in October, and MTYY and PLYY on MicroStrategy and Palantir Technologies in September, growing the YieldBOOST suite's assets under management beyond $649 million by late November 2025. These launches reflect GraniteShares' strategic focus on innovative options-income strategies tied to leveraged ETFs in high-growth sectors like digital assets, consumer health and technology, complementing core offerings like COMB amid a broader firm AUM increase to over $11 billion. The company continues to emphasize cost-efficient, transparent structures across its U.S. and European ETP listings on major exchanges.
