Business
Covalon Technologies Ltd. is a research-driven developer, manufacturer and marketer of patent-protected medical products focused on advanced wound care, infection management, vascular access, perioperative care and customized medical device coatings. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions including collagen matrix dressings such as ColActive Plus and ColActive Plus Ag for chronic and infected wounds like diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and surgical wounds; vascular access products including VALGuard line guards, IV Clear dual-antimicrobial clear IV dressings and CovaClear IV soft silicone dressings for sensitive skin; perioperative care items; urology products; and proprietary coating technologies like CovaCoat utilizing photo-polymerization processes. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Covalon sells its branded products directly and through private label arrangements and license contracts to pediatric and acute care hospitals, long-term care settings and home healthcare providers throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Middle East. In a significant recent development, the company engaged Origin Merchant Partners in May 2025 as its financial and strategic advisor to explore opportunities including joint ventures, mergers, licensing deals, a potential NASDAQ listing, stock repurchases from its approximately $18 million net cash reserves and separations of its Advanced Wound Care and Vascular Access Surgical Consumables divisions to maximize shareholder value; additionally, Covalon announced its first-ever dividend payment in November 2025, marking a milestone in financial strength amid revenue growth to $24.1 million in the first nine months of fiscal 2025.
