Business
Credit Immobilier et Hotelier SA (CIH Bank) is a Morocco-based universal banking institution that provides a comprehensive range of retail, corporate, real estate, and investment banking services. Founded in 1920 and headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco, the bank operates as a core banking subsidiary of Caisse de Depot et de Gestion (CDG Group) and serves individual retail consumers, professionals, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and large corporate institutions throughout the Kingdom of Morocco. The company structures its operations into several primary business segments, encompassing Retail Banking, Corporate and Investment Banking, Real Estate and Tourism Financing, and Participatory Banking. CIH Bank provides an extensive portfolio of financial products and services, including specialized retail deposit and transaction accounts such as Code 30 youth accounts, Code 18 accounts, and Sayidati accounts; residential mortgages, home purchase loans, and construction credit facilities; consumer credit and personal loans; domestic, international, and contactless Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards; bancassurance, life insurance, and retirement savings solutions; corporate working capital facilities and short-term liquidity management; medium- and long-term corporate investment financing; commercial real estate and hotel sector project loans; treasury management and foreign exchange hedging; trade finance, documentary credits, and international payments; equipment leasing and automotive leasing solutions through its subsidiary Maroc Leasing; specialized consumer financing via Sofac; and Sharia-compliant participatory banking services, including Murabaha and Ijara contracts, through its subsidiary Umnia Bank. In recent years, CIH Bank has accelerated its strategic transition from a real-estate-focused lender into a digital-first universal banking leader, notably becoming one of the first banking groups in North Africa to deploy mobile contactless payment solutions including Apple Pay and Google Pay integration across its payment card portfolio. The bank has expanded its omnichannel infrastructure with fully digital remote account onboarding, biometric authentication, and AI-enabled customer assistance platforms. To support credit portfolio expansion and optimize its regulatory solvency ratios, CIH Bank has executed multi-tranche subordinated bond issuances and perpetual capital programs. Furthermore, the bank has broadened its SME and sustainability initiatives through strategic partnerships and green credit facilities secured with international development institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), targeting energy efficiency projects, female-led enterprises, and digital business modernization across Morocco.
