Business
Charter Hall Group is Australia’s leading fully integrated diversified property investment and funds management group, founded in 1991 and headquartered in Sydney. It specializes in managing and investing across core real estate sectors including Office, Industrial & Logistics, Retail, and Social Infrastructure. Its core business activities include property investment; property development; funds management services involving wholesale, listed and unlisted equity; asset management; leasing; and development services. Charter Hall curates a diverse portfolio of high-quality properties and manages funds that invest in commercial office buildings, supermarket-anchored retail centers, industrial and logistics facilities, and social infrastructure assets primarily in Australia. The group’s recent strategic expansions include the acquisition of Southport Park Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast to strengthen its convenience retail portfolio and other acquisitions of triple supermarket-anchored shopping centers in key Australian markets such as Melbourne and Sydney. Charter Hall also extended its long-term partnership with Canadian pension fund PSP Investments to acquire a large Brisbane office development, reinforcing its presence in the office sector with a focus on sustainability and large floor plates. Additionally, Charter Hall has broadened its fund management capabilities with a 50% acquisition position in Paradice Investment Management, a listed equities fund manager, reflecting a strategic diversification beyond real estate. The group actively manages a $61.3 billion portfolio with 1,506 properties and pursues a $9 billion sustainable development pipeline focused on innovation and long-term asset value generation. Charter Hall operates through segments including Property Investments (comprising portfolios of managed real estate assets), Development Investments (property development projects), and Funds Management (investment and real estate management services). Its extensive client base includes wholesale investors, institutional and retail investors, and corporate tenants across Australia. The firm emphasizes sustainability, long-term community growth, and value creation throughout market cycles, focusing on delivering strong, risk-adjusted returns. In summary, Charter Hall Group offers a comprehensive suite of real estate investment, development, and management services across Australia’s key property sectors, enhanced by recent acquisitions and partnerships that expand its retail and office footprint and deepen its fund management offerings.
