Business
Dalmia Bharat Limited (BSE/NSE: DALBHARAT) is an India-based cement manufacturing company principally engaged in the production and sale of cement and related products. The company offers Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), Portland Slag Cement (PSC), Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC), Portland Composite Cement (PCC), and other specialty cements; key brands include Dalmia DSP Cement, Dalmia Cement, Konark Cement, Dalmia Infra PRO, Dalmia Infra Green, Dalmia Insta Pro, and Dalmia Magic; it also provides cement-based surface finish solutions as alternatives to putty and management services. Founded in 1939 and headquartered in New Delhi, the company operates 15 state-of-the-art manufacturing units across 10 states in India, servicing more than 23 states through a network of approximately 49,300 channel partners, with an installed cement production capacity of 49.5 million tonnes per annum. Dalmia Bharat Limited maintains leadership as one of India's fourth-largest cement producers and among the largest producers of Portland Slag Cement, targeting individual consumers and institutional customers in the construction sector with a focus on infrastructure projects such as the Hirakud Dam, Chennai Metro, Salt Lake Stadium, and Dhola Sadiya Bridge. Subsidiaries include Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, Dalmia Cement (North-East) Limited, and Dalmia Bharat Green Vision Limited. The company also participates in the sugar sector through affiliates and emphasizes sustainability, achieving one of the lowest carbon footprints globally in cement, with commitments to 100% renewable energy by 2030 (RE100), carbon negativity by 2040, and water positivity. In recent developments, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary, acquired a 26% equity stake in Solis Urja Energy in January 2025 for ₹1.75 crore to secure up to 7.0 MWp captive solar power in Andhra Pradesh, supporting sustainability goals. The Competition Commission of India approved the subsidiary's 100% acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates in August 2025 as part of strategic expansion efforts. The company achieved its 49.5 million tonnes per annum capacity target in FY25, including a 1.6 million tonnes expansion at Rohtas Cement Works in Bihar, and is advancing organic growth projects such as a 3.6 million tonne clinker line at Umrangso (commercial production expected Q3 FY26), alongside expansions in Belgaum, Pune, Kadapa, and additional 12 million tonnes capacity across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and other regions targeting 62 million tonnes by FY28.
