Business
Devyani International Limited (DIL), established in 1991 and headquartered in Gurugram, India, operates as one of India's largest quick service restaurant (QSR) chains, managing franchises for global brands and proprietary concepts across India, Thailand, Nigeria, and Nepal. As of December 31, 2024, the company runs over 2,030 stores in more than 280 cities, including over 900 KFC outlets offering fried chicken, burgers, wraps, and meals; over 580 Pizza Hut stores specializing in pizzas, pasta, and Italian-American dishes; more than 190 Costa Coffee cafes providing coffee beverages, pastries, and snacks; and over 70 Vaango outlets focused on South Indian vegetarian cuisine such as idlis, dosas, and traditional dishes; alongside The Food Street food court formats featuring multiple brands in malls, airports, highways, and hospitals. DIL serves as India's largest franchisee for Yum! Brands (KFC and Pizza Hut), the exclusive franchisee for Costa Coffee, and an integral subsidiary of RJ Corp Limited, targeting urban consumers with cluster-based expansion and cross-brand synergies in the food and beverage sector. In recent developments, DIL's subsidiary Sky Gate Hospitality completed the acquisition of additional stakes in Blackvelvet Hospitality Private Limited and Say Chefs Eatery Private Limited in July 2025, making them wholly-owned subsidiaries following share purchase agreements in June 2025; earlier in April 2025, DIL acquired an 80.72% stake in Sky Gate Hospitality for Rs 419.6 crore to integrate Biryani By Kilo, Goila Butter Chicken, Tealive, Sanook Kitchen, and New York Fries, expanding into Indian cuisine and elevating its portfolio to 10 brands.
