VanEck Defense UCITS ETF is a UCITS exchange-traded fund focused on providing pure-play exposure to the global defense industry through investments in defense technology companies, large-scale cybersecurity firms, defense-relevant service providers, and other businesses deriving significant revenue from military hardware, communication systems, unmanned vehicles, and related services; the fund applies controversial-weapons screening, is structured as an accumulating, physically replicated ETF, tracks the MarketVector Global Defense Industry Index, and is listed under ticker DFNS.L. The ETF is issued by VanEck UCITS ETFs plc, launched on 31 March 2023, domiciled in Ireland, carries a total expense ratio of 0.55%, and had total net assets of $7.8 billion as of 20 August 2026. VanEck is a global investment manager founded in 1955 and headquartered in New York, with local offices and product distribution across Europe, Australia, Asia, and Latin America. Its broader business includes ETFs; mutual funds; institutional funds; model delivery; separately managed accounts; sub-advisory services; private funds; and digital-asset strategies, serving retail, advisor, and institutional clients across equity, fixed income, natural resources, commodities, gold and precious metals, multi-asset, and digital-asset markets. In 2025 and 2026, VanEck expanded its product lineup and strategic reach through continued ETF launches across thematic, sector, and digital-asset categories, including new U.S. ETFs such as data-center supply chain, semiconductor, space, and TruSector funds, and in July 2026 it announced a partnership with Allocate to broaden access to private-markets solutions for financial advisors in the United States.
