Business
Sound Equity Dividend Income ETF (DIVY) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks current income via a dividend yield targeted at least twice that of the S&P 500 Index; long-term capital appreciation through a concentrated portfolio of high-dividend-yielding U.S. large- and mid-cap equity securities selected for growth potential, financial stability, and tax efficiency; and reduced volatility by focusing on undervalued companies with histories of dividend payments while avoiding sectors like tobacco. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in dividend-paying equities, including top holdings such as Citigroup Inc., Enbridge Inc., Eversource Energy, GSK plc, Perrigo Co., AT&T Inc., and Cisco Systems Inc.; it adjusts holdings dynamically in response to economic conditions and features a 0.45% expense ratio. DIVY trades on the NYSE under ticker DIVY with CUSIP 886364793 and NAV symbol DIVY.NV. In July 2023, the fund changed its name from Sound Equity Income ETF to Sound Equity Dividend Income ETF, following its prior ticker change from SDEI on April 3, 2023; recent portfolio adjustments include adding shares in Provident Financial Services Inc. and Sonoco Products Co. in 2025 and 2024, respectively, while reducing exposure to Xerox Holdings Corp., H&R Block Inc., and others. Launched on December 30, 2020, DIVY is sub-advised by Sound Income Strategies, LLC, a Florida-based SEC-registered investment adviser founded by David J. Scranton and part of the Sound Income Group with over $2.6 billion in assets under management; the fund is issued through Tidal ETF Trust with Tidal Investments, LLC as adviser and Foreside Fund Services, LLC as distributor, primarily targeting income-seeking investors such as retirees. Operations focus on U.S. equity markets, with assets under management around $29-31 million as of late 2025.
