Business
Dream Residential Real Estate Investment Trust was formerly an open-ended real estate investment trust structured under Ontario law, focusing its operations on the ownership of multi-residential properties. Its portfolio encompassed 15 garden-style complexes, totaling approximately 3,300 units, primarily situated across key markets in the U.S. Sunbelt and Midwest regions, including areas like Dallas–Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, and Cincinnati. Established in early 2022, the REIT initially held 16 properties before divesting one in late 2023. Following a comprehensive strategic review initiated in February 2025, Dream Residential REIT announced an agreement in August 2025 to be acquired by an affiliate of U.S.-based Morgan Properties in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately US$354 million. This acquisition officially closed on November 18, 2025, leading to the expected delisting of its units from the Toronto Stock Exchange around November 19, 2025.
