Business
Korra for Energy and Investment Projects S.A.E., operating commercially as Korra Energi, is an Egypt-based diversified engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor and agribusiness enterprise specializing in sustainable energy solutions, electromechanical infrastructure, and agricultural exports. Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, the company operates across two principal business divisions: Korra Energi and Korra Agri. The Korra Energi division provides integrated energy efficiency, infrastructure development, and contracting services for industrial, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, educational, and public sector clients. Its core offerings include turnkey mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contracting; design, engineering, and construction of cogeneration and trigeneration plants; industrial waste heat recovery and energy optimization systems; district cooling and heating networks; water treatment and desalination engineering; and rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) and hybrid renewable power systems. Through authorized distribution and technical partnerships with international original equipment manufacturers, including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS), Ebara, Yanmar, Turboden, and Euroclima, the company supplies, installs, and integrates specialized equipment, including direct-fired and steam absorption chillers, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) air conditioning systems, centrifugal chillers, industrial boilers, and gas power generation units. In addition, the division delivers full-lifecycle services comprising facility management, operation and maintenance (O&M), commissioning, testing, and after-sales engineering support. The Korra Agri division engages in agricultural land development, crop cultivation, post-harvest sorting, cold storage, processing, packaging, and commercial export of fresh and frozen agricultural commodities, with a primary specialization in premium strawberries, serving export distribution networks across more than 14 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. In recent developments, the company completed its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) in June 2026 under the ticker symbol KORA, listing an 11% equity stake to raise growth capital targeted at regional expansion across the Middle East and Africa, specifically targeting Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Operationally, the company reorganized its business into dedicated energy and agribusiness divisions, expanded its solar project pipeline through partnerships with technology providers such as Sungrow and Arabian Company for Oil Services (ACO) for energy infrastructure in the petroleum sector, and accelerated the deployment of industrial decarbonization and thermal efficiency systems across regional infrastructure projects.
