- Elmos Semiconductor SE develops, manufactures and markets mixed-signal semiconductors primarily for automotive applications. The company offers motor control ICs including stepper motor controllers, brushless DC motor controllers and DC motor controllers for thermal management in cabin HVAC, seat ventilation, engine cooling fans, grille shutters and battery water pumps as well as comfort functions such as window lifters; LED driver ICs encompassing high-voltage, linear LED and LIN RGB controllers for exterior lighting like brake, turn indicator, reverse, fog and daytime functions and interior ambient lighting in stripes, floors, roofs, reading lights, door panels, cup holders and dashboard surfaces; ultrasonic distance sensor ICs and sensor signal processors for ADAS 360-degree surround sensing, point cloud generation, park assistance, blind spot detection, side distance warning, cross traffic alert, emergency braking and pre-crash systems; pressure ICs for automotive brake pressure, force, torque and position sensing and industrial applications including flow metering, barometric air pressure and low-pressure sensing in respirators; as well as safety ICs for airbags, engine management ICs, relay drivers, DC/DC converters, LDO regulators, PSI5, LIN/CAN and KNX transceivers. Elmos operates globally with sales in Germany, other European Union countries, the Americas, Asia/Pacific and internationally, targeting automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and industrial customers. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Dortmund, Germany, the company maintains design, R&D, testing and administration at its Dortmund site supplemented by Asian foundry partners under a fabless model. In January 2025, Elmos expanded its collaboration with Samsung Foundry, building on the 2020 partnership and successful ramp-up of ten products in 130nm BCD technology to accelerate access to next-generation processes for automotive growth; in October 2025, it completed the acquisition of minority shares in subsidiary DMOS GmbH in Dresden to resolve insolvency proceedings, secure operations and enhance development cooperation; the company divested its Dortmund wafer fabrication facility to Littelfuse for approximately 93 million euros in late 2024, enabling focus on advanced external foundry technologies and a modernized management structure; and achieved record 2024 sales of 581.1 million euros with a 25.1% operating EBIT margin despite market challenges.
