- HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings S.A. operates as a prominent energy conglomerate, primarily active across Greece, Southeast Europe, and the East Mediterranean region. The company’s operations span multiple key energy segments, encompassing refining, fuel marketing, hydrocarbon exploration and production, petrochemicals, power generation and trading, and a growing focus on renewable energy sources. Within its refining division, HELLENiQ ENERGY manages three sophisticated facilities in Greece, located in Aspropyrgos, Elefsina, and Thessaloniki, which collectively represent approximately 65% of the nation’s total refining capacity. This core activity involves the extensive supply, refining, and trading of crude oil and various petroleum products. The company maintains a robust marketing presence, overseeing a vast network of over 1,600 service stations throughout Greece under the EKO and BP brands, complemented by approximately 300 additional stations in Southeast European countries such as Cyprus, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Beyond automotive fuels, their marketing portfolio includes LPG, aviation fuels, marine fuels, and lubricants. As Greece’s sole producer of petrochemicals, the group manufactures essential products like polypropylene, solvents, and caustic soda. In power generation, HELLENiQ ENERGY operates natural gas plants and, through its full consolidation of ELPEDISON (now Enerwave) in July 2025, is actively engaged in electricity trading and natural gas supply. The company is also heavily invested in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in select onshore and offshore areas of Greece, often in strategic partnerships, with plans for an exploration drilling campaign in the Ionian Sea in 2027. Crucially, HELLENiQ ENERGY is executing a strategic transformation towards a lower-carbon future, with ambitious targets to achieve 1 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2025 and over 2 GW by 2030. This shift is supported by significant investments in solar and wind projects, including recent acquisitions of 110 MW of solar parks in Greece in late 2024 and additional wind and solar assets in Romania and Bulgaria in 2025. The company is also developing energy storage solutions and expanding its e-mobility initiatives. Formerly known as Hellenic Petroleum Holdings S.A., the company rebranded to HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings S.A. in September 2022, signaling its commitment to this diversified energy transition. The group provides specialized engineering and consulting services and is headquartered in Marousi, Greece, having been established in 1998.
