Business
Emles Alpha Opportunities ETF (EOPS), a series of Emles Trust, employs an actively managed equity long/short strategy that combines deep-value investing in undervalued stocks with catalyst-driven trading to pursue total return with capital preservation as a secondary objective; the fund primarily invests in value stocks of North American companies, with a focus on "old economy" sectors including industrials, consumer discretionary, and materials; it maintains flexibility to utilize options, indices, and other transparent liquid instruments for alpha generation and risk mitigation. Launched in June 2021 and managed by Nathan Miller, formerly of NGM Asset Management, Citadel Investment Group, and RBC Capital Markets, the ETF targets institutional and retail investors seeking hedge fund-like strategies within a transparent ETF structure. Headquartered in New York through its adviser Emles Advisors LLC, the fund operated principally in U.S. and Canadian equity markets prior to its closure. In September 2022, Emles Advisors announced the liquidation of EOPS alongside five other ETFs due to insufficient assets under management; trading ceased on October 19, 2022, with full liquidation completed on or about October 26, 2022, after which shareholders received cash distributions equal to net asset value. The ETF is no longer active or trading.
