Business
Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (TSX/NASDAQ: EPRX) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing locally delivered, extended-release products that address high unmet medical needs in inflammatory, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, oncology, and pain disorders using its proprietary Diffusphere polymer-based micro-sphere technology for targeted drug delivery; core product candidates include EP-104GI, administered via esophageal wall injection for eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in the ongoing Phase 1b/2a RESOLVE trial and Phase 2b placebo-controlled study with topline data expected in H2 2026, and EP-104IAR for knee osteoarthritis pain following completion of the Phase IIb SPRINGBOARD trial, alongside an earlier-stage pipeline for additional inflammatory joint indications and other long-acting formulations. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, with additional facilities in Vancouver, the company employs 33 people and operates primarily in North America while pursuing global markets for its therapies in multibillion-dollar indications such as EoE, estimated to affect over one million US patients by 2029, and joint pain where current treatments underperform on efficacy, safety, duration, and convenience. Recent developments include positive 12-month data from the highest-dose RESOLVE cohort showing two-thirds of patients in clinical remission and sustained tissue health improvements across cohorts, first patient dosing in the Phase 2b RESOLVE portion announced August 2025, and the closing of an upsized US$80.5 million public offering in September 2025 with full underwriter option exercise, extending cash runway into Q1 2028 to fund pipeline advancement, preclinical/clinical studies, regulatory submissions, manufacturing scale-up, and business development.
