Business
VanEck Environmental Services ETF (EVX) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to replicate the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the NYSE Arca Environmental Services Index (AXENV). The fund provides investors with exposure to companies involved in waste collection, transfer and disposal services; recycling services; soil remediation; wastewater management; and environmental consulting services. It holds a diversified portfolio of approximately 21 stocks, including leading holdings such as Waste Connections Inc., Waste Management Inc., Ecolab Inc., Republic Services Inc., and Ceco Environmental Corp., with primary sector weightings in industrials (76.42%), materials (13.52%), consumer staples (5.12%), and health care (4.96%) as of November 30, 2025. Geographically, the fund's assets are predominantly allocated to the United States (95.50%), followed by Canada (4.52%). Launched on October 10, 2006, and issued by VanEck ETF Trust, a division of the New York City-headquartered global investment manager VanEck, EVX targets the fast-growing environmental services sector driven by population growth, industrialization, and regulatory demands for waste management and resource recovery. The fund maintains a net expense ratio of 0.55% and total net assets of approximately $92.68 million as of December 12, 2025, with a year-to-date return of 13.52%. In recent developments, EVX underwent a 5-for-1 forward stock split approved by the Board of Trustees of VanEck ETF Trust, effective with shares trading on a split-adjusted basis starting February 6, 2025, following record and ex-dates in early February. Additionally, the fund is scheduled for significant changes after the close of trading on December 19, 2025, including modifications to its benchmark index, investment objective, and principal investment strategy. These updates reflect VanEck's ongoing assessment of its ETF lineup to enhance investor accessibility, liquidity, and alignment with market dynamics.
