Business
Koskisen Corp (EZ8.SG) is a Finland-based wood processing company that manufactures sawn timber, processed timber products, plywood, thin plywood, veneers, chipboards and interior solutions for light utility vehicles under the Kore brand; it operates through Sawn Timber Industry and Panel Industry segments and serves customers in construction, automotive, furniture, transportation and other industries across approximately 70 countries including Finland, Japan, Germany, Poland and other European markets. Founded in 1909 and headquartered in Järvelä, Finland, the company sources wood from managed Finnish forests, maintains production facilities in Järvelä, Hirvensalmi and Toporów, Poland, and emphasizes sustainable circular bioeconomy products that store carbon for decades with sales to premium quality markets. In March 2025, Koskisen agreed to acquire the business operations of Iisveden Metsä Oy for approximately EUR 26.5 million to boost sawn timber revenue by one-third, enhance birch log procurement for panel growth and increase annual wood procurement to 1.9 million cubic meters and sawing capacity to 540,000 cubic meters; the deal completed in May 2025 with issuance of 1 million new shares and supports the strategy to reach EUR 500 million revenue by 2027 through organic and inorganic expansion. Recent investments include channel dryers for sawn timber production in August 2025 and a MiCROTEC log sorting line in 2024; 2024 revenue totaled EUR 282.3 million with ongoing focus on product innovation like Zero fossil-free furniture panels and SENSi smart plywood.
