FT Vest U.S. Equity Buffer ETF - February (FFEB) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide investors with returns, before fees, expenses, and taxes, that match the price return of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust up to a predetermined upside cap while offering a targeted downside buffer if shares are held for the full Target Outcome Period, typically one year. The fund invests substantially all of its assets in FLEX Options referencing the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust; these customized options enable the target outcome strategy, with holdings concentrated in call and put options, cash, and indirect exposure to U.S. large-cap equities across sectors such as technology, financial services, consumer cyclical, communication services, and healthcare. Launched on February 21, 2020, and domiciled in the United States, FFEB trades on the Cboe BZX Exchange with First Trust Advisors L.P. as investment adviser, an affiliate of First Trust Portfolios L.P., and sub-advised by Vest Financial LLC using proprietary Target Outcome strategies; the fund targets retail and institutional investors seeking defined-risk exposure to U.S. equity markets and operates primarily in the United States with total net assets of approximately $1.07 billion and a net expense ratio of 0.85%. Recent developments include the appointment of Trevor Lack as co-portfolio manager effective January 2, 2025, alongside Karan Sood, reflecting ongoing enhancements to the management team amid sustained growth in First Trust's suite of Target Outcome ETFs. First Trust Advisors announced monthly distributions for FFEB and related funds in December 2024, underscoring the fund's income-generating capabilities through its options-based approach; additionally, in October 2025, First Trust proposed reorganizations of certain Vest-advised mutual funds into First Trust-advised vehicles, signaling strategic integration within its partnership with Vest Financial, in which an affiliate holds a majority equity interest. The fund maintains its core strategy without major product alterations, though new caps and buffers reset at the start of each annual Target Outcome Period based on market conditions, with the current period extending through February 2026.
