Business
Freemelt Holding AB (publ) Freemelt Holding AB (publ) is a Sweden-based high-tech growth company that develops and commercializes advanced electron beam powder bed fusion (E-PBF) 3D printers for industrial additive manufacturing of metal components. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Mölndal, the company offers a complete portfolio including the research-oriented Freemelt ONE printer; the industrial eMELT series, such as eMELT-iM for serial production of orthopedic implants in titanium alloys and eMELT-iD for application development; and comprehensive services encompassing material and process development, feasibility studies, application engineering, and productivity partnerships supporting transitions to full-scale production. Its solutions target high-performance materials like titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) for medical implants, pure tungsten for fusion energy, defense, and X-ray applications, and high-purity copper for electromobility and electromagnetic systems, serving customers including universities, research institutes, R&D departments, and industrial players primarily in Europe and the United States across defense, energy, and medical technology sectors. Recent developments include strategic collaborations with two global OEMs and Saab Dynamics for serial production of orthopedic implants and defense applications using eMELT; partnerships with 3DMZ, Sandvik, Mid Sweden University, Fusion for Energy, UKAEA, and Jiuli for tungsten tiles, chemically reduced powders, and market expansion into China; orders from North American universities, research institutes, and UK customers for eMELT and Freemelt ONE; the launch of new eMELT models; strengthened management with Karin Stenback as CTO; and financing through rights issues totaling approximately SEK 171 million alongside a bridge loan.
