Business
Gensol Engineering Limited (GENSOL.NS) is an India-based company engaged in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for solar power projects; operation and maintenance (O&M) services for solar plants; development and sale of solar power projects as an independent power producer; and manufacturing of solar panels, trackers, and balance of system components including inverters and mounting structures. The company offers turnkey EPC solutions for rooftop solar, ground-mounted solar plants, and hybrid projects; provides solar module cleaning robots and advanced tracker systems under its proprietary brands; and delivers battery energy storage systems (BESS) integration services. Gensol operates primarily in India with expanding presence in the Middle East and Africa, targeting utility-scale developers, commercial and industrial clients, and government-backed renewable energy initiatives; it was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. In the last two years, Gensol secured a INR 1,800 crore funding round in 2023 led by global investors to fuel expansion; executed multiple large-scale EPC contracts exceeding 1 GW capacity including partnerships with Azure Power and NTPC; launched its in-house solar module manufacturing facility with 1.5 GW annual capacity in 2024; and announced strategic alliances for green hydrogen projects and international EPC bids in the UAE. The company underwent a significant business diversification in 2024 by entering EV charging infrastructure and energy storage segments through subsidiary acquisitions.
