- Gold Fields Limited is a global gold producer engaged in underground and surface gold mining, exploration, development and production activities. The company operates mines including Agnew, St Ives, Granny Smith and Gruyere in Australia; Tarkwa and Damang in Ghana; Cerro Corona in Peru, which produces gold, copper and silver; Salares Norte in Chile; and South Deep in South Africa. Gold Fields sells gold bullion and concentrate primarily to global financial markets and central banks; it also produces copper and silver by-products from Cerro Corona. Founded in 1887 with roots in The Gold Fields of South Africa and headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, the company maintains listings on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (GFI.JO) and New York Stock Exchange (GFI). The company advanced Windfall project permitting in Canada, monetised Northern Star Resources shares for A$1.1 billion and disposed of its Galiano Gold stake for C$151 million post-quarter, while progressing renewables projects at St Ives and Granny Smith to cut energy costs. Tarkwa mineral reserves grew 70% to 6.6 million attributable ounces ahead of its 2027 lease renewal in Ghana, and leadership changes included appointing Francois Swanepoel as COO and Jason Sander as acting CTO in September 2025.
