Guideline Geo serves markets in groundwater detection and mapping, environmental and geological risk assessments, infrastructure site investigations, mineral exploration and mining, and utility locating, with global operations through its ABEM and MALÅ brands. Founded in 1923 and headquartered in Solna, Stockholm, Sweden, the company formerly known as Guideline Technology AB changed its name in June 2013. In January 2024, Guideline Geo acquired the assets of its long-term Australian distributor Geonix Pty Ltd (trading as MALA GPR Australia) for approximately SEK 8 million, establishing Guideline Geo Australia Pty Ltd as a wholly owned subsidiary to strengthen its presence in the Oceania region and support growth in geophysical instrument sales, service and training. The company recently signed two new distributor agreements in the US to expand in the utility detection market and launched the ABEM shear wave shot plate product in October 2025 for enhanced shear wave velocity surveys.
