Business
Galam Ltd. develops, manufactures and markets specialty food, nutritional, animal-feed and industrial ingredients derived primarily from natural, predominantly non-GMO raw materials. The Company operates through FoodTech and Industry activities, supplying food and beverage manufacturers, nutraceutical and dietary-supplement producers, pet-food and animal-nutrition companies, and paper, packaging, textile, adhesive and construction-industry customers. Its food-ingredient portfolio comprises sweetening solutions, including crystalline fructose marketed under the Fruitose® brand, fructose and glucose syrups, liquid sugars and stevia-based sweeteners; native, modified and pre-gelatinized starches, including ViStar thickening and stabilizing solutions; nutritional and specialty ingredients, including instant cereals, proteins, sprouts, oils and fibers; and GOFOS™ short-chain fructo-oligosaccharide prebiotic fibers, available in powder and liquid formats for sugar and calorie reduction, fiber enrichment, taste improvement and functional-food formulations. These products are used in dairy products, beverages, bakery goods, snacks and cereals, confectionery, jams and fruit preparations, nutritional bars, infant nutrition, tabletop sweeteners and dietary supplements. Galam also supplies corn gluten meal and corn germ for poultry, livestock and feed-milling applications, as well as industrial starch systems including GalSize for paper surface sizing, GalTis for tissue, GalKar, CorruGal and GalBoard for corrugated-board applications, GalSol for construction, GalCore for plasterboard and GalTex for textiles, in addition to starch-based adhesive and binder applications. The Company provides product-development, application-laboratory and formulation support, and its subsidiary, Dagal Trade & Marketing Ltd., imports and markets selected third-party specialty raw materials and additives principally in Israel. Founded in 1940, Galam is headquartered at Kibbutz Maanit in the Menashe region of Israel, where it maintains its principal production and R&D operations; it also operates application and development laboratories, production facilities and distribution centers in Germany and Spain, serving customers in more than 60 countries through an international sales and distribution network. Galam is controlled by FIMI Opportunity Funds, which acquired the group in 2017. Recent strategic developments include the continued expansion of its FoodTech positioning around healthier, value-added formulations focused on sugar and calorie reduction, taste optimization, prebiotic-fiber enrichment and digestive-health applications, alongside ongoing commercialization of GOFOS™ and Fruitose® ingredient platforms and the reinforcement of its integrated production, development and distribution footprint across Israel, Germany and Spain.
