- GAMCO Natural Resources, Gold & Income Trust (GNT) is a diversified, closed-end management investment company whose primary objective is to provide a high level of current income, with a secondary objective of capital appreciation. The Fund seeks to achieve its objectives under normal market conditions by investing at least 80% of its assets in equity securities of companies principally engaged in the natural resources and gold industries, including those involved in the exploration, production, mining, fabrication, processing, distribution or trading of natural resources such as metals (precious metals including gold, silver and platinum; base metals including copper, lead, nickel and zinc), energy, agriculture, forestry products, water and commodities, as well as related transportation companies and equipment manufacturers; it also generates income primarily through writing covered call options on the underlying equity securities in its portfolio. At least 25% of assets are allocated to natural resources companies and at least 25% to gold-related companies, with investments spanning public equity markets globally.
