In recent developments, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. created the Capital Solutions Group in January 2025 to enhance financing, origination, structuring and risk management in private credit and private equity by integrating capabilities from its financing group, investment banking and markets coverage; expanded its private credit business, which manages approximately $145 billion in alternative assets, with leadership changes including Vivek Bantwal co-heading Global Private Credit alongside James Reynolds; and in October 2025 announced the acquisition of Industry Ventures, a venture capital platform with $7 billion in assets under supervision specializing in secondary liquidity, early-stage hybrid funds and co-investments across over 800 venture funds, expected to close in the first quarter of 2026 and integrate into its $540 billion alternatives platform to bolster technology investment capabilities for clients.
