Business
The Grob Tea Company Limited, established in 1895 with its headquarters in Kolkata, India, is primarily engaged in the cultivation, manufacturing, and distribution of tea across the nation. The company maintains an impressive portfolio of tea estates situated in the prominent tea-growing regions of Assam, including locations such as Doyang, Dessoie, Kanu, Martycherra, Pathemara, and Teen Ali. These expansive landholdings comprise a total grant area of roughly 4236.07 hectares, with approximately 2332.71 hectares dedicated to lush tea plantations. Since its acquisition by the Rawalwasia group in 2009, the company has undertaken significant modernization efforts, enhancing its facilities and expanding its annual production capacity to over 40 lakh kilograms of premium Assam tea. Beyond its core tea business, The Grob Tea Company has also diversified its operations to encompass the trading of light-emitting diode (LED) streetlights and associated products. The company is strategically exploring new market avenues, such as Orthodox tea, and has initiatives in place to improve environmental sustainability within its tea gardens.
