Gerresheimer AG, along with its associated companies, develops, produces, and globally supplies specialized primary packaging and innovative drug administration systems. The company operates through its Plastics & Devices, Primary Packaging Glass, and Advanced Technologies divisions. The Plastics & Devices segment delivers sophisticated drug delivery systems, encompassing solutions like inhalers, insulin pens, auto-injectors, and prefillable plastic syringes for the pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, and medical technology sectors. Additionally, it provides diverse containers and closures for solid, liquid, and ophthalmic applications, including PET bottles, eye droppers, nasal sprays, nebulizers, applicators, and various accessories, alongside prescription vials. This division also engages in contract manufacturing for complex medical devices. The Primary Packaging Glass division manufactures high-quality glass primary packaging for both the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. Its offerings include infusion, dropper, and syrup bottles, alongside injection vials, ampoules, and cartridges, often available in different glass types and colors such as clear, amber, or opal. The division further extends to miniature bottles and glass containers for liquid food, spices, and spirits, as well as specialized packaging for fragrances, deodorants, skincare, and wellness products. Recent innovations include Gx Elite vials, enhancing patient safety and manufacturing efficiency for sensitive drugs. The Advanced Technologies division is dedicated to pioneering smart drug delivery systems. This includes the development of micro pumps, digital platforms for therapeutic support, and wearable medication pumps designed for self-administration of critical medicines, catering to pharmaceutical and biotech partners. Recent advancements in this area include expanded collaboration on reusable autoinjector platforms and partnerships in connected adherence solutions. Founded in 1864, the company is headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. Gerresheimer maintains a global presence with over 40 production sites across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
