Business
Scandinavian Real Heart AB (Publ) Scandinavian Real Heart AB (Publ) (HEART.ST) develops artificial heart technologies and related medical devices to treat advanced heart failure patients awaiting transplants; its flagship product, Realheart TAH, is a total artificial heart that mimics the human heart's shape, function, and pulsating blood flow pattern; additional products in development include RealVAD, a pulsating left ventricular assist device, PulsePump for generating pulsating flow in heart-lung machines to protect vital organs during surgery, and Sternal Prosthesis to securely fixate the sternum post-open chest surgery, reducing healing time and complications. The company, founded in 2007 after initial research began in 1999 and headquartered in Västerås, Sweden, operates primarily in the medtech sector with a focus on biomedical engineering for cardiovascular applications and targets healthcare providers and patients with severe heart conditions globally. Recent developments include patent approvals granted in China and Japan in November 2025; receipt of approximately SEK 6.8 million from the European Innovation Council following a directed share issue; a Vinnova grant for assembly processes; a directed share issue of up to SEK 32 million; a proposed rights issue of about SEK 70 million for continued financing; and board chairman Oskar Mellgren's acquisition of 7,200 shares on November 24, 2025.
