The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH) is a luxury hospitality and real estate group that owns, develops, and manages ultra-premium hotels under The Peninsula brand, commercial and residential properties, and tourism assets including The Peak Tram; it operates through three divisions comprising hotels, commercial properties, and clubs and services. Incorporated in 1866 and headquartered in Hong Kong, the company lists on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (ticker: 0045.HK; OTC: HKSHF) and maintains properties in key locations across Asia (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Bangkok, Manila), Europe (London, Paris, Istanbul), and the United States (New York, Chicago, Beverly Hills). Its Peninsula Hotels portfolio features twelve operational properties offering approximately 3,500 rooms with signature amenities such as fine dining, spas, bespoke experiences, and event spaces; commercial assets include The Repulse Bay Complex and The Peak Tower in Hong Kong, 21 avenue Kléber in Paris, The Landmark in Ho Chi Minh City, St. John's Building and The Peninsula Office Tower in Hong Kong, and residential apartments linked to hotel complexes like Peninsula London and Shanghai; ancillary services encompass Peninsula Merchandising boutiques, Peninsula Clubs and Consultancy Services (managing elite clubs like The Hong Kong Club), The Quail golf and motorsports club in Carmel, California, Tai Pan Laundry, and The Peak Tram, Hong Kong's iconic tourist attraction since 1888. HSH targets high-net-worth leisure and corporate travelers, affluent residents, and institutional tenants in the luxury hospitality, premium real estate, and experiential tourism segments. In recent developments, the group completed sales of 17 of 24 Peninsula London Residences by June 2025 with the final six released for sale, issued its inaugural JPY16 billion (HK$869 million) Private Samurai Bond in June 2025 to enhance financial flexibility, appointed Julien Munoz as Chief Commercial Officer in September 2025 and Vincent Pimont as Managing Director of The Peninsula Hong Kong in September 2025, named Benjamin Vuchot as CEO in October 2024, commenced a strategic review to sharpen medium- and long-term plans by end-2025, and reported interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2025 showing 13% operating revenue growth to HK$3.3 billion and 63% operating EBITDA growth to HK$643 million excluding prior-year residence sales.
