Business
Hermès International SCA is a French luxury goods company that designs, manufactures, markets and sells leather goods and saddlery; ready-to-wear apparel; silk and textiles; fashion accessories; shoes; belts, gloves and hats; jewelry and watches; perfume and beauty products; home furnishings, interior fabrics, wallpaper and tableware, serving customers through its own retail stores, specialized stores and other distribution channels across France, Europe, Japan, Asia-Pacific, the Americas and the Middle East. Founded in 1837 and headquartered in Paris, France, the company operates as a vertically integrated luxury house and is controlled by the Hermès family through H51 SAS and related holding structures. In 2025, Hermès reported revenue of €16.0 billion, recurring operating income of €6.6 billion and continued strong cash generation, underscoring the scale of its global luxury business. Recent developments include the opening of a new store in Hanoi in January 2026, a new Sanlitun store in Beijing in April 2026, the reopening and expansion of stores in Hong Kong, Taipei, Berlin and Osaka, and the inauguration of a new Hermès Maison on New Bond Street in London in June 2026. The company also expanded industrial capacity with the opening of a 25th leather goods workshop in Loupes, France, in early April 2026, with additional workshops planned in France in the coming years. Hermès continues to focus on craftsmanship-led growth, exclusive distribution and selective geographic expansion across its core luxury segments.
