Business
iShares iBonds Oct 2025 Term TIPS ETF (IBIB) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of the ICE 2025 Maturity US Inflation-Linked Treasury Index, composed of U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) scheduled to mature between January 1, 2025, and October 15, 2025; the fund employs a representative sampling indexing strategy, investing at least 80% of its assets in component securities of the underlying index or U.S. Treasury securities believed to help track the index performance, with no more than 10% in futures, options, and swaps; it provides inflation protection through TIPS, which adjust principal and interest payments based on the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers. The ETF, launched on September 13, 2023, and domiciled in the United States, is managed by BlackRock Fund Advisors, a subsidiary of BlackRock, Inc., with a management fee of 0.10% and an expense ratio of 0.10%; portfolio managers include James Mauro (since September 13, 2023), Jonathan Graves (added August 1, 2025), and Marcus Tom (added August 1, 2025), following the removal of Karen Uyehara; holdings are concentrated in United States Treasury securities, comprising over 99% of the portfolio. BlackRock announced the planned termination of the ETF in 2023, with trading ceasing on October 15, 2025, final net asset value calculation on October 16, 2025, and liquidation proceeds distributed to shareholders on or about October 20, 2025, in line with the fund's term structure design; as the fund nears maturity, proceeds from maturing bonds are reinvested in remaining index securities or cash equivalents, leading to a portfolio transitioning predominantly to cash by termination; this operational wind-down, approved by the Board of Trustees, includes contractual fee waivers for acquired fund fees through the termination date.
