iShares U.S. Infrastructure ETF (IFRA) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of the NYSE FactSet U.S. Infrastructure Index, comprising U.S.-listed equities of companies with significant infrastructure exposure, including asset owners and operators in energy transportation and storage, railroad transportation, and utilities; as well as enablers in construction and engineering services, machinery, and materials. The ETF holds approximately 157-159 diversified positions across utilities (around 43.5% allocation), industrials, and materials sectors, with top holdings such as Arcosa Inc., MDU Resources Group Inc., NextEra Energy Inc., Eversource Energy, and Spire Inc., each representing under 1% of assets under management, which exceed $3.2 billion. Launched on April 3, 2018 and managed by BlackRock under the iShares brand, IFRA operates primarily in the U.S. market, providing targeted exposure to domestic infrastructure activities for institutional and retail investors. In July 2025, BlackRock expanded its infrastructure ETF suite by launching the iShares Infrastructure Active ETF (BILT), complementing IFRA's passive strategy with an actively managed offering focused on global listed infrastructure equities to capture long-term growth potential. This addition builds on BlackRock's $10 billion infrastructure ETF platform, which includes IFRA alongside funds like iShares Global Infrastructure ETF (IGF) and iShares U.S. Digital Infrastructure and Real Estate ETF (IDGT). No major acquisitions, funding rounds, partnerships, or structural changes specific to IFRA have been reported in the last 1-2 years, with the fund maintaining its index-tracking methodology, 0.30% expense ratio, and quarterly rebalancing aligned to the benchmark's annual reconstitution.
