iShares U.S. Healthcare ETF (IYH) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of the Dow Jones U.S. Health Care Index, composed of U.S. equities in the healthcare sector, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare equipment, supplies, services, and providers. The fund provides investors with broad exposure to large-cap healthcare companies such as Eli Lilly and Company (12.57% weight), Johnson & Johnson (8.44%), AbbVie Inc. (7.50%), UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (6.14%), and Abbott Laboratories (4.23%), with the top 10 holdings representing approximately 55% of assets under management totaling around $2.90 billion; it holds 107 stocks overall with a management fee of 0.38% and no acquired fund fees or other expenses. Launched on June 12, 2000, and managed by BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, N.A., a subsidiary of BlackRock, Inc., headquartered in New York, New York, the ETF operates primarily in the U.S. market, with nearly 100% of its portfolio in domestic healthcare equities. In March 2024, IYH underwent a 5-for-1 stock split, effective March 7, 2024, with shares trading on a split-adjusted basis thereafter to enhance liquidity and accessibility for investors. The fund continues to align with its benchmark amid ongoing sector dynamics, including strong performance from top holdings driven by pharmaceutical and biotech innovations, though no major partnerships, acquisitions, or strategic shifts specific to the ETF have been announced in the last 1-2 years.
