John Hancock Core Plus Bond ETF is an actively managed, non-diversified fixed-income exchange-traded fund of John Hancock Exchange-Traded Fund Trust that seeks a high level of current income consistent with prudent investment risk. The fund, which trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker JHCP, commenced operations on December 18, 2024, and is advised by John Hancock Investment Management LLC, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, and subadvised by affiliated Manulife Investment Management (US) LLC, a business of Manulife Wealth & Asset Management. JHCP serves U.S. retail, intermediary and institutional investors through broker-dealers and financial intermediaries, with individual shares trading in the secondary market and creation and redemption activity conducted through authorized participants. The fund invests, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of net assets, plus borrowings for investment purposes, in a diversified portfolio of bonds; portfolio holdings may include investment-grade corporate bonds, debentures and notes; convertible and hybrid securities; mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities; to-be-announced mortgage contracts; U.S. Treasury, government and agency securities; variable- and floating-rate securities; and U.S.-dollar-denominated debt issued by foreign governments and corporations. The fund may allocate up to 20% of net assets to below-investment-grade debt securities and up to 10% of total assets to foreign issuers, including emerging-market issuers, while not investing in foreign-currency-denominated securities or bank loans. Its portfolio construction emphasizes sector allocation, industry allocation and bottom-up security selection, targets average maturity and duration substantially similar to those of the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index, incorporates environmental, social and governance factors alongside other investment considerations, and may use exchange-listed futures and other derivatives for hedging, risk management and efficient portfolio management, without employing leverage. The fund may also lend securities, invest in affiliated or unaffiliated funds and ETFs as permitted by law, and hold short-term securities, cash or cash equivalents for temporary defensive purposes. Its principal operating development is its December 2024 launch alongside the John Hancock Core Bond ETF, expanding John Hancock Investment Management’s actively managed fixed-income ETF platform; JHCP is managed by Manulife Investment Management’s U.S. Core and Core-Plus Fixed Income team, including Jeffrey N. Given, Howard C. Greene, Connor Minnaar and Pranay Sonalkar.
