Business
iShares Global Utilities ETF (JXI) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of the S&P Global 1200 Utilities (Sector) Capped Index, a subset of the S&P Global 1200 Index comprising global equities in the utilities sector. The fund invests at least 90% of its assets in securities of the underlying index or depositary receipts representing such securities, focusing on companies involved in electric, gas, and water utilities, as well as independent producers and distributors of power; top holdings include NextEra Energy Inc. (7.76%), Iberdrola SA (5.89%), The Southern Company (5.15%), Constellation Energy Corp. (4.55%), and Duke Energy Corp. (4.54%), with approximately 85 total holdings representing large-cap growth and value stocks across global markets. Managed by BlackRock Fund Advisors with an expense ratio of 0.39%, the ETF targets investors seeking exposure to the utilities industry worldwide, including operations in the United States, Europe (such as Spain, Italy, and the UK), and other developed markets. Launched on September 12, 2006, and domiciled in the United States, the fund is issued by BlackRock iShares and headquartered in New York alongside its parent organization. Recent operational changes include the appointment of new portfolio managers Peter Sietsema, Matt Waldron, and Steven White, effective April 1, 2025, alongside existing manager Jennifer Hsui. Additionally, around November 10, 2025, Citibank, N.A. assumed roles as administrator, custodian, and transfer agent for the fund, marking a shift from prior service providers. These updates reflect ongoing enhancements to fund management and administration without altering the core investment objective or strategy.
