Business
Kempower Oyj designs, manufactures and sells DC fast-charging solutions and equipment for electric vehicles including cars, buses, trucks, boats, aviation and machinery; offers distributed EV charging systems such as satellite chargers, liquid-cooled satellites, control units, pantograph up/down, cable arm and mega satellites, as well as standalone chargers including station chargers, movable chargers and AC satellites under the Kempower brand; provides ChargEye, a cloud-based charging management system for electric bus depots, developers, charge point operators and retail; and delivers related services encompassing installation training, charger upgrades, maintenance and technical support. The company operates primarily in public charging, logistics, public transportation, marine and port industries, with geographic presence spanning the Nordics, rest of Europe, North America and select international markets; it maintains production facilities in Finland and the United States. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Lahti, Finland, Kempower Oyj employs over 800 personnel across more than 45 nationalities. Recent developments include strong order intake growth of 45% year-over-year in Q3 2025 driven by expansion in Europe excluding Nordics and North America, with new customer wins such as Allego, Circle K and EV Realty; expansion of US footprint through multiple new PowerUp America sites across the Southeast under the NEVI program in Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky during Q3 2025; surpassing 4,000 charging connectors installed at over 800 UK locations since early 2022 and 26 million global EV charging sessions by mid-2025; opening of a new research unit on LUT campus in Lappeenranta, Finland in October 2025 to bolster electric mobility R&D; and recognition as 8th on the Financial Times FT1000 Europe's fastest-growing companies list for 2025 with a 343.5% CAGR from 2020-2023.
