Business
Kovrov Mechanical Plant, Public Joint-Stock Company (Ticker: KMEZ.ME) is a Russian manufacturing company primarily engaged in the development and production of gas centrifuges and related equipment for the nuclear power industry. The company's main products include gas centrifuges used for uranium isotope separation, pipeline accessories such as stainless steel locking ball valves, disc flow-regulating valves, and hand-operated rotary disc bolts. Additionally, Kovrov Mechanical Plant manufactures permanent magnets and magnet systems, various tools, and provides leasing of non-residential office and production premises as well as water supply services. Founded in 1916 and headquartered in Kovrov, Vladimir Oblast, Russia, Kovrov Mechanical Plant has a longstanding presence in the defense and industrial sectors. Historically, it has produced a broad range of armaments, including small arms and anti-tank rifles, and has contributed to the development of iconic weapons like the AK-47. More recently, the company operates as part of TVEL AO and serves customers across chemical, food, pharmaceutical, mining, metallurgical, and thermal power sectors. Over the last one to two years, Kovrov Mechanical Plant has focused on expanding and modernizing its manufacturing capabilities, responding to heightened demand in Russia’s nuclear and industrial power sectors. The company continues to enhance its product portfolio and manufacturing processes, aiming to meet the needs of strategic industries amid Russia’s energy complex modernization. Kovrov has also been involved in strategic partnerships and received state support aligned with this modernization drive, ensuring its operational capacity and technological sovereignty in key markets. Besides nuclear industry products, Kovrov Mechanical Plant has diversified into commercial production sectors, manufacturing machinery parts and hydraulic components, consolidating its role in both defense and industrial manufacturing domains within Russia and select neighboring markets.
