- Kordsa Teknik Tekstil A.S. (KORDS.IS) manufactures and supplies reinforcement materials primarily for the tire, composites, construction, and compounding industries worldwide. Founded in 1973 as a subsidiary of Haci Omer Sabanci Holding A.S. and headquartered in Izmit, Kocaeli, Turkey, the company produces carcass and industrial fabrics for vehicle tires including automobiles, airplanes, motorcycles, agricultural machinery, lorries, buses, and industrial vehicles; composite reinforcement products such as prepregs, prepreg adhesives, surface films, and phenolic honeycombs for aerospace, automotive, sports equipment, and marine applications; construction reinforcement solutions for infrastructure and superstructure projects; and compounding materials using 100% recycled PA66 granules for sustainable engineering plastics, alongside heavy denier fibers, nylon yarns, polymers, rubber and plastic materials, and connection fabrics. Kordsa operates nearly 4,500 to 5,000 employees across 11 to 13 production facilities in seven countries including Turkey, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, the USA, Italy, and Germany, serving tire manufacturers that account for one in every three automobile tires and two in every three aircraft tires globally, with geographic segments spanning Europe, Middle East and Africa; North America; South America; and Asia, and revenue primarily from industrial yarn and cord fabric, advanced composites, and other operations. Recent developments include a capital increase from TRY 194.5 million to TRY 484.3 million announced in September 2025 with an application to the Capital Markets Board; subsidiary Kordsa Inc. agreeing in May 2025 to purchase minority shares for EUR 34.9 million; the appointment of Ergun Hepvar as CEO effective June 1, 2025; prior acquisitions such as 60% of Microtex Composites SRL in 2023 for TL 490 million and Fabric Development, Textile Products, and Advanced Honeycomb to expand aerospace competencies; and sustained expansion in sustainable technologies like low-carbon-footprint products and eco-friendly tire reinforcements reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
