- Themes Lithium & Battery Metal Miners ETF is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance, before fees and expenses, of the BITA Global Lithium and Battery Metals Select NTR Index and provides exposure to companies that derive significant revenues from the mining, exploration, and refining of lithium and battery metals. The fund uses a passive indexing strategy; under normal circumstances it invests at least 80% of net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in index securities and may also hold American Depositary Receipts and Global Depositary Receipts linked to index constituents. It is non-diversified, charges an expense ratio of 0.35%, and held 51 securities as of mid-September 2026.
The ETF’s portfolio is global in scope and is designed to capture companies involved across the lithium and battery metals value chain, including miners, explorers, refiners, and royalty interests. Recent disclosed holdings included Pilbara Minerals, Albemarle, Guangzhou Tinci Materials Technology, Core Lithium, Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt, Tianqi Lithium, IGO, Talon Metals, Mineral Resources, and Ganfeng Lithium, underscoring its concentration in materials-related battery supply chain businesses.
Themes Lithium & Battery Metal Miners ETF was launched on September 24, 2024, and is part of the Themes ETF Trust, a Delaware statutory trust organized on February 22, 2023, with adviser Themes Management Company LLC headquartered at 34 East Putnam Avenue, Suite 112, Greenwich, Connecticut. Themes ETFs is a thematic ETF sponsor affiliated with Leverage Shares and offers a broader lineup of thematic, sector-specific, and leveraged ETFs in the US market.
In a major recent development, the board of the Themes ETF Trust decided in September 2026 to liquidate and close LIMI, citing an inability to attract sufficient assets; the fund is scheduled to cease trading on Cboe at the close of regular trading on September 21, 2026, and creation and redemption orders stop on September 18, 2026.
