- Global X Aging Population ETF (AGNG), formerly known as the Global X Longevity Thematic ETF under the ticker LNGR, is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide investment results corresponding to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Indxx Aging Population Thematic Index. The fund invests at least 80% of its total assets in securities of the underlying index, which measures the equity market performance of exchange-listed companies in developed markets that operate across four overlapping themes of the aging population trend: longevity; active aging; age-related services and products; and healthier aging. It offers targeted exposure to companies positioned to benefit from the global demographic shift toward a growing senior population, with top holdings including UCB SA, Eli Lilly & Co., AstraZeneca PLC, Johnson & Johnson, Welltower Inc., Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Roche Holding AG, AbbVie Inc., Edwards Lifesciences Corp., and Merck & Co. Inc.; sector allocations emphasize health care at approximately 92% and real estate at 8%. The ETF provides diversified access to firms involved in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, healthcare services, senior housing, and related real estate; it tracks an annually reconstituted and rebalanced index with modified market-cap weighting, including individual security caps of 3% and floors of 0.3%, alongside a 60% industry cap. Geographic operations span developed markets worldwide, including the United States, Europe, and Japan, targeting institutional and retail investors interested in thematic equity strategies. Launched on May 9, 2016, with initial trading under the ticker LNGR tracking the Indxx Global Longevity Thematic Index, the fund underwent a significant rebranding prior to April 9, 2021, adopting the AGNG ticker and current name while shifting to the Indxx Aging Population Thematic Index.
