Business
Lar España Real Estate SOCIMI, S.A. (LRE.MC) is a Spanish listed real estate investment company (SOCIMI) that acquires, manages, and leases commercial properties, primarily retail assets including shopping centres and retail parks across Spain; its portfolio comprises around 500,000 square metres of gross leasable area valued at approximately €1.34 billion, targeting high-yield opportunities through active asset management and value creation strategies. Founded in 2014 and headquartered at Calle María de Molina 39, Planta 10, Madrid, the company operates exclusively in the Spanish market, focusing on retail real estate investment trusts (REITs) with selective exposure to offices and residential properties; it is externally managed by Grupo Lar, leveraging the group's extensive experience in property development, refurbishment, and portfolio optimization. In late 2024, Lar España completed a reverse merger with its parent Helios RE Socimi, S.A., resulting in a name change to Helios RE Socimi, S.A. (operating as HLRE Socimi), delisting from the Continuous Market and relisting on the BME Scaleup segment, alongside a renewed board chaired by Vanessa Gelado; key recent developments include a €810 million refinancing deal in July 2024 with Morgan Stanley and Banco Santander for its core retail portfolio, the sale of two non-core assets (Txingudi shopping centre and Las Huertas retail park) for €40.5 million in August 2024 to support rotation strategy, new strategic services contracts with affiliates HREIS and GLMSI effective 2025, and full acquisition of shares by Helios in February 2025 following a voluntary takeover bid by Hines and Grupo Lar.
