Martin Burn Limited engages in real estate development, civil engineering, construction activities, turnkey projects, property leasing, and share dealing in India. The company offers work contracts; property development including premium gated communities such as Shreeram Gardens on Belvedere Road, Shreeram Nagar on VIP Road, Shreeram Estates in Behala, and Shreeram Arcade shopping complex; public space developments like Eden Gardens Club House and S.S. Hogg Market Phase II; and renovation services for iconic landmarks including Victoria Memorial, Shahid Minar, Esplanade Mansion, and General Post Office. Founded in 1946 through the merger of Martin & Co. (established 1890) and Burn & Co. (established 1809), it is headquartered at Martin Burn House, 1st Floor, R.N. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata, West Bengal, and primarily operates in eastern India with a focus on Kolkata's residential, commercial, and public infrastructure segments targeting middle-class housing and civic projects. In June 2025, the company appointed Surendra Kumar Gupta as a Non-Executive Independent Director for five years effective June 27, marking a recent board refresh following the scheduled end of Devesh Hansraj Poddar's term on July 1, 2025.
