Business
Motley Fool Value Factor ETF (MFVL) is a passively managed exchange-traded fund that tracks a proprietary rule-based index developed by The Motley Fool, LLC, focusing on the most US value-tilted companies among those recommended by its analysts; the index selects and weights approximately 100 large-cap US equities using conviction scores from Motley Fool recommendations and a value composite score based on adjusted fundamental ratios such as capital efficiency, profitability, and valuation metrics. The ETF offers investors exposure to attractively valued, high-quality growth companies identified through statistical analysis and investor psychology principles, with top holdings including FedEx Corp (FDX), Walmart Inc (WMT), HCA Healthcare Inc (HCA), Charles Schwab Corp (SCHW), and Amgen Inc (AMGN). MFVL trades on the Nasdaq exchange and is part of Motley Fool Asset Management's suite of passive ETFs, which also includes the Innovative Growth Factor ETF (MFIG), Momentum Factor ETF (MFMO), Motley Fool 100 ETF (TMFC), Next Index ETF (TMFX), and Capital Efficiency 100 Index ETF (TMFE). Launched on December 9, 2025, as one of three new single-factor passive ETFs by Motley Fool Asset Management, MFVL represents a major expansion of the firm's passive product lineup amid a surge in active and enhanced ETF strategies. This recent launch aligns with the firm's strategy to provide targeted exposure to specific investment factors derived from The Motley Fool, LLC's proprietary stock research, complementing its existing active funds like Global Opportunities ETF (TMFG), Small-Cap Growth ETF (TMFS), and Mid-Cap Growth ETF (TMFM). Motley Fool Asset Management, founded in 2008 as an independent subsidiary of The Motley Fool, LLC—which was established in 1993 and is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia—operates primarily in the US market, serving retail and institutional investors seeking Foolish, long-term equity strategies without active portfolio management.
