- Engtex Group Berhad is a Malaysia-based integrated investment holding company that operates as a one-stop provider of pipeline systems, infrastructure solutions, building materials, and property services. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, Malaysia, the company operates across four primary business segments: Wholesale and Distribution, Manufacturing, Property Development, and Hospitality. The group serves municipal water boards, sewerage authorities, civil engineering contractors, heavy industrial facilities, precast concrete producers, commercial developers, and data center operators across Peninsular Malaysia, East Malaysia, and broader Southeast Asian markets. Key operating subsidiaries include Engtex Ductile Iron Pipe Industry Sdn Bhd, Engtex Metals Sdn Bhd, Engtex Steel Pipe Sdn Bhd, Engtex Sdn Bhd, Engtex Marketing Sdn Bhd, and Allpipes Technology Sdn Bhd.
The company manufactures, fabricates, and distributes an extensive portfolio of infrastructure and industrial products. Its core manufacturing and distribution product lines include ductile iron pipes and fittings marketed under the SUASA UNIK, EDIP, and ENGTEX brands for potable water distribution and sewerage networks; electric resistance welded (ERW) mild steel pipes, spiral welded steel pipes, and hollow steel sections for structural and fluid conveyance applications; welded ribbed wire reinforcement mesh marketed under the EM and EMU brands for concrete slabs, walls, and precast infrastructure components; hard-drawn steel wire and cut-to-size engineered steel mesh; bitumen-coated piping and anticorrosion lining systems; municipal casting products, including ductile iron manhole covers, surface boxes, and fire hydrants; industrial and waterworks valves, including gate valves, check valves, air release valves, and butterfly valves; comprehensive pipe fittings, couplings, flanges, and mechanical joints; and general plumbing hardware, sanitary wares, and building materials. In addition, the group develops residential and commercial real estate properties and manages hospitality assets offering hotel accommodation, function spaces, and food and beverage services.
In recent strategic developments, Engtex Group has accelerated its geographic and operational expansion to capitalize on national water infrastructure modernization programs and rising demand from digital infrastructure projects. The company advanced the construction and commissioning of a new pipe manufacturing plant in Sarawak to expand localized production capacity and capture growing water pipeline tenders across East Malaysia. In corporate actions, the group completed the 100 percent equity acquisition of Variglobal Sdn. Bhd. and executed a three-for-four bonus issue to improve share liquidity and enlarge its capital base. Operationally, Engtex expanded its tender pipeline to approximately RM1.1 billion, driven by government-backed pipe replacement initiatives under the national budget, major water supply packages such as the Sungai Rasau water treatment scheme, and escalating pipe demand for data center developments, which represents approximately 10 percent of its order book. The group has also enhanced operational resilience and profitability by increasing domestic material sourcing to approximately 40 percent to mitigate foreign exchange exposure and normalize input cost structures.
