- Prolintas Infra Business Trust is a Malaysia-based Islamic infrastructure business trust specializing in the ownership, operation, and maintenance of urban tolled expressways and related transportation infrastructure. Established in 2023 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the trust is sponsored by Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad, and is managed by Prolintas Managers Sdn Bhd as its trustee-manager. The trust operates primarily within the Greater Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley regions, serving commuter traffic across key residential, industrial, and commercial corridors.
The trust generates revenue primarily through long-term toll concession agreements granted by the Government of Malaysia. Its asset portfolio comprises four mature urban toll expressways: the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), a 7.7-kilometer elevated expressway providing direct arterial access between Ampang and central Kuala Lumpur; the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), a 25-kilometer dual-carriageway connecting Shah Alam to Rawang; the Lebuhraya Kemuning-Shah Alam (LKSA), a 14.7-kilometer expressway connecting Kota Kemuning to central Shah Alam; and the Sistem Lingkaran-Lebuhraya Kajang (SILK), a 37-kilometer ring road network servicing Kajang, Balakong, and Sungai Long. The trust provides an integrated suite of highway operation and maintenance services, including electronic toll collection (ETC) operations utilizing RFID, Touch n Go, and open payment systems; 24-hour traffic management, centralized control monitoring, and emergency breakdown recovery via dedicated patrol units; routine, preventive, and periodic civil infrastructure maintenance, including pavement resurfacing, bridge maintenance, slope stabilization, and drainage management; and non-toll commercial monetization activities, such as advertising board space leasing, telecommunications tower site licensing, right-of-way leases, and lay-by facility management.
In March 2024, Prolintas Infra Business Trust completed its initial public offering on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia under the ticker MYX:PLINTAS, marking the debut of the first business trust listed on the Malaysian stock exchange. In preparation for and following the listing, the trust executed a comprehensive restructuring of concession agreements across its four underlying highway networks with the Government of Malaysia, extending concession periods through 2037 to secure long-term cash flow predictability under updated tolling frameworks. Concurrently, the trust restructured and refinanced its concession debt through the issuance of multi-billion ringgit Islamic medium-term notes (Sukuk Murabahah) to optimize financing costs and enhance capital efficiency. The trust has also progressed its operational modernization roadmap by rolling out open payment processing systems across its toll plazas to accept debit and credit card payments, aligning its toll collection infrastructure with nationwide digital transit and multi-lane free-flow development initiatives.
