Business
Tek Seng Holdings Bhd. is a Malaysia-based investment holding company primarily engaged in the manufacturing, processing, and distribution of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products, polypropylene non-woven fabrics, and the letting of industrial properties. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia, the company operates through three principal business segments: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Products, Non-Woven Fabrics, and Property Investment and Asset Management. Under the PVC Products segment, the company manufactures and markets a comprehensive portfolio of polymer-based materials; including flexible and rigid PVC sheeting; clear transparent and embossed plastic films; printed and laminated PVC tablecloths; PVC synthetic leather and sponge leather for automotive interiors, commercial furniture, and footwear; waterproof PVC tarpaulins; PVC flooring; and specialized plastic packaging and stationery films. Through its Non-Woven Fabric segment, managed principally through subsidiary TS Non-Woven Fabric Sdn. Bhd., Tek Seng produces polypropylene (PP) spunbond non-woven fabrics, laminated non-woven materials, and composite roll goods; supplying applications across medical and healthcare disposables, such as surgical face masks, medical caps, and isolation gowns; personal hygiene products, including baby diapers and feminine care liners; agricultural crop covers; industrial filtration systems; and eco-friendly reusable shopping bags. Through its Property Investment segment, the company manages and leases industrial factory buildings, land, and warehouse facilities. Tek Seng Holdings Bhd. operates manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and distributes its products to both domestic and international markets, exporting across the Asia-Pacific region, South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The company serves diverse customer groups, including automotive component suppliers, furniture manufacturers, healthcare and medical supply converters, agricultural operators, and retail packaging distributors. Key operating subsidiaries include Tek Seng Sdn. Bhd., TS Non-Woven Fabric Sdn. Bhd., and TS Solartech Sdn. Bhd. In recent operations, Tek Seng Holdings Bhd. has implemented major strategic adjustments across its asset base and manufacturing operations. The group has optimized its asset portfolio by repurposing excess industrial factory space, previously dedicated to solar photovoltaic cell production under TS Solartech Sdn. Bhd., into high-occupancy industrial warehouse and factory leasing units to secure stable recurring rental cash flows. In its core manufacturing divisions, the company has upgraded its PVC calendering and extrusion infrastructure to introduce higher-value, eco-friendly synthetic leathers complying with international environmental standards, while expanding production capacity in specialized, high-barrier non-woven fabrics for medical and technical uses. Furthermore, the company has advanced its corporate sustainability program by installing rooftop solar photovoltaic systems across its primary manufacturing plants to offset industrial energy consumption and reduce operational overhead amidst petrochemical raw material price volatility.
