Nuveen Massachusetts Quality Municipal Income Fund (NMT) is a closed-end fixed income mutual fund that seeks current income exempt from regular federal and Massachusetts personal income taxes, with a secondary objective of enhancing portfolio value. The fund primarily invests in undervalued municipal securities and related investments exempt from federal and Massachusetts state income taxes, allocating at least 80% of its managed assets to investment-grade securities (rated Baa/BBB or equivalent by S&P, Moody's, or Fitch, or unrated securities deemed comparable by the manager) and up to 20% to below-investment-grade securities (with no more than 10% rated below B-/B3 or equivalent); it employs leverage to enhance returns and benchmarks performance against the S&P Massachusetts Municipal Bond Index and S&P National Municipal Bond Index.
